Ed Strait, 88
1924 – November 2012
A highly respected and involved civic activist in the City of Falls Church since he moved here in 1958, died after a brief illness on Monday November 17th. Residing at the Goodwin House in Bailey’s Crossroads for the last four years he remained involved in community activities.
Members of Mr Strait’s family were headed to Falls Church but there is as yet no plans for memorial events.
Martin L. Cigledy, 83
April 10, 1929 – September 11, 2012
Obituary: A 1947 graduate of Yorktown High School. Martin lived in Falls Church for 46 years until moving to Spring, Texas to be by his daughter.
A Navy veteran from the Korean War who worked at the Naval Research Lab in Washington. He liked to travel, study the Civil War history. He was an active volunteer in community and volunteered for many groups.
He is survived by his two children, Mike and Lauren and four grandchildren, Aaron, Casey, Kristen, and Marcus.
Burial arrangements under the direction of National Memorial Park.
On Monday, July 30, 2012 of Falls Church, VA. Beloved wife of the late Sidney Greenberg; devoted mother of Debbie (Clark) Rogers and Morey (Tobey) Greenberg; cherished grandmother of Michael (Gisele), Jonathan (Joanne), Adina (Daniel), Shira, Jay; and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 31 at 12 noon at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA. The family will be observing Shiva at the residence of Morey and Tobey Greenberg Tuesday and Wednesday and at the residence of Debbie and Clark Rogers Thursday through Monday. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or AMIT. Arrangements by HINES-RINALDI FUNERAL HOME, INC. under Jewish Funeral Practices Committee of Greater Washington Contract.
